Unlike many startups, Aspivix did not emerge from a university or engineering school. "I used to ask my brother regularly if there was anything we could improve in his profession", recalls Julien Finci, "until he ended up telling me about the Pozzi tenaculum - also known as ball-puller, which shows just how painful the procedure will be." So by combining their skills in medicine, microtechnology and medical devices, they designed a product with gentle suction pads that avoids the pain and bleeding and lowers the risk of cross-contamination. Together, Mathieu Horras, David and Julien Finci created Aspivix on the basis of an observation made by David Finci, Julien's brother and an experienced gynaecologist.
